As part of Cold Chain Technologies’ planned expansion to meet the growing demands of global vaccine distribution, we are thrilled to showcase our new facility in Lebanon, Tennessee. With over 255,000 square feet, 17 water-based gel lines, and 13 KoolTemp EcoFlex 96 work cells, the new plant will employ 262 additional people once it is running at full capacity. Currently, about half of the individuals needed have been recruited and their initial training has begun in the original facility in Lavergne, Tennessee.
Dan McMahon, Vice President of Operations, stated, “Cooperation, collaboration, and camaraderie have been our focus throughout the build-out process. We are continuously working side-by-side with our partners to remove any potential barriers that may impede the progress of the Tennessee plant opening. It has been a tremendous and exciting undertaking.”
The four-shift production schedule (3.5-day workweek followed by 3.5-day weekend) has been embraced by both existing and new employees and allows for a fully operational and cohesive enterprise. Full production at the Lebanon, TN facility will begin November 1, 2020 and will be directed by Jim Griffith, Tennessee Plant Manager. “Staffing—the people part of this endeavor—has been our biggest concern,” Griffith said. “But everything—from securing the new building to installing the required utilities and machinery to hiring the workforce—has all come together in a two-month timeframe.”
