Founded as FDC Packaging in 1967, the company was originally a regional provider of insulated shipping containers and freezer bricks to the food and seafood industry. In 1998, when the biotech industry was emerging, Massachusetts’ native Larry Gordon purchased FDC Packaging. Gordon, who earned degrees from Tufts University and MIT’s Sloan School, repurposed the company to focus on temperature control shipments within life sciences by investing in the company’s people, products, and technology.
