Cold Chain Technologies (CCT) is delighted to announce its involvement for the 4th consecutive year in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented Hyundai taking place September, 24, 2017. CCT will participate as an official sponsor of Refueling station 10 located in Cleveland Circle where employees will distribute refreshments and cheer on thousands of walkers en route to the finish line. In addition to sponsoring the refueling station, CCT has organized Team Cold Chain, a group of walkers comprised of employees that have joined together in support of the nation’s most successful single-day fundraising walk.
Since 1948, The Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars through various fundraising events. For every dollar raised, eighty-eight cents go to Dana-Farber’s mission to support adult and pediatric care and cancer research. In 2016, more than 9,400 participants and 1,000 volunteers raised more than $8.7 million for compassionate patient care and innovative cancer research at Dana-Farber. For 2017, more than 9,500 participants are expected to partake with goals to raise $9 million dollars to support research and to honor friends, family, co-workers, and patients facing all forms of cancer.
The annual walk is the only event other than the Boston Marathon® itself that is sanctioned by the Boston Athletic Association to use the historic route. Walkers will complete one of the four routes: 26.2 miles starting from Hopkinton; 13.1 miles starting in Wellesley; 6.2 miles from Newton; and 3.1 miles from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s campus. All routes end at the notable Copley Square finish line in Boston where walkers will receive medals and enjoy refreshments, music and a speaking program.
